Early Intervention Home Programs

I can develop and supervise individualized Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programs for children with a diagnosis of ASD and other developmental disabilities. All programs are based on the principles of behaviour, which include reinforcement-based procedures to teach new skills and to reduce challenging behaviours.

ABA home programs focus on all areas of development including the following:

  • Receptive Communication
  • Expressive Communication
  • Academic Skills
  • Social Interaction
  • Play Skills
  • Fine and Gross Motor Skills
  • Self Help Skills
  • Behaviour management
  • OT Targets (where applicable)
  • SLT targets (where applicable)

Initially, time will be spent with your child and an assessment of needs will be conducted, which will determine the specific areas to target. This will involve carrying out the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS) and/or Verbal Behaviour Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP)

From this, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) will be developed with the long-term goals of your child’s home program. This will also include specific goals parents want targeted and can include other goals from relevant agencies such as occupational therapists (OT) and speech and language therapists (SLT). Training will be provided with an ABA tutor who will work on a 1 to 1 basis with your child. Training can also be provided to family members. Regular workshops will take place to evaluate your child’s progress and make necessary adjustments.
